Catch Mice With Mouse Traps

Mouse Traps

SNAP! - A lovely sound that you have likely caught something on one of your mouse traps

But, you check all the mouse traps you put out and nothing is there! Yes, mice are very smart and can sometimes set off a trap without injury and even get away with the food or bait you put on it. You also might find your spouse, child or pet was the one who set off the trap, where the snap sound is quickly followed by a shout or scream!

When you pick a mouse trap, make sure its of good quality, easy to set, and designed to quickly catch those pesky critters.

A great bait to use on any kind of mouse trap is good old Peanut Butter. The scent of peanut butter is like crack to most mice and because its a paste, they can't just grab it and run off. They have to get up on it to get to that peanut butter. Mice will shy away from new things in their territory so another good trick is NOT TO SET THE MOUSE TRAP when you first set it out. Place just a bit of peanut butter on the trap. After a day or two, check out the trap to see if the peanut butter is missing. If it is, its likely they found it and ate it and will come back for more. This time, set your trap and you will catch them!

Place your mouse traps perpendicular to a wall or surface where you have seen the mice run or found their droppings. Of course, place them in places where they won't be set off by someone or something other than the mice.
